With the opening of our new SurePods West facility in Arizona, we’re now able to better service and ship our bathroom pods to developers and builders across the Western United States in an effort to simplify one of the most headache-inducing parts of the construction process. The approach consolidates more than 10 construction trades – including electrical, plumbing, and finishing work – into one prefabricated product and eliminates the bathroom punch list. With a just-in-time delivery approach and modular units that are easy to lift, place and connect, we can save owners time and money, while improving bathroom quality.

As we dive deeper into the West Coast market, here’s a look at a few projects that are getting underway in our new facility.

Banner Gateway Medical Center

Breaking the mold, Banner Health Gateway Medical Center holds the title for our first Arizona project, SurePods West project and nested pod design. Designed by The Smith Group, the 351,000 square-foot expansion is designed to meet the needs of Arizona’s high-growth Gilbert area by adding capacity for woman and infant care, patient beds and diagnostic and treatment spaces. Articles for the 144 prefabricated bathrooms just came online at the SurePods West facility and will support the medical center’s fast-tracked, integrated project delivery structure.

Banner Desert Medical Center

Located in Mesa, AZ, the Banner Desert Campus is also set to be outfitted with SurePods prefabricated bathroom pods. The medical center will feature 14,800 square feet of new space and 102,500 square feet of renovated space to meet pressing patient-care capacity needs. In addition to new medical and surgery units, the strategic build will increase services for woman and infant care via a new women’s tower adjacent to the campus’ existing pediatric tower.

Sam Houston State University (SHSU) North Residence Hall

SHSU’s new 186,000 square foot, 5-story student housing project is poised to address the need for additional student housing while embracing time- and cost-saving methodologies. Working in conjunction with DPR Construction, SurePods will prefabricate bathroom pods offsite to help accelerate the schedule and ease shipping and laydown constraints, as the new hall will be built in the middle of the university’s crowded campus.
